Okay... I believe that Oatmeal Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies (found in Fellowship's first cookbook) has to be a recipe made in heaven. And when you put it with a cup of coffee or milk, it makes a GREAT breakfast! (Oh yeah, we totally justify that--I mean it has protein and oatmeal!) Nobody makes these cookies better than our friend, Beth Menne... She and her sister-in-law, Vonda, came ALL the way to Little Rock just to hand deliver these to us! Well, we did have a nice visit too... thank you ladies for bringing a little bit of heaven to us! Tom and I have had maybe 20 already today. :)
Vonda, me and Beth... fun time, good laughs and GREAT cookies!
This morning was another 4am-5am-6am-7am-8am day... Lots of nurse and doctor visits. But I did get to see our specialist today (he was the 8am visit). He clarified a little more about the MRI saying that the results didn't show anything, but that doesn't rule out that we might still have some placenta growth into the uterus. He said we won't know for sure until we go into surgery. I love how he tells me things plainly... the MRI results were good, but we do need to anticipate this type of placenta growth (due to the fact that there is not any endometrial lining in the uterus because of the ablation procedure). He reiterated that he still wants Adalynn and I to "hang out" until 34 weeks--that's a little over two more weeks!
Tom, Crist and Ty were here today. We didn't do much (there isn't much to do), but just knowing they were here with me, made it feel so much more like home. DaneO is at a Heritage football camp this week--I miss that boy, but am so happy he's getting to take part in that!
You know, I've mentioned all the goodies that come my way, and even try to include pictures... but I haven't yet shared about all the wonderfully beautiful cards, postcards and letters that are sent here! I forgot how much fun it was getting "snail mail" in this age of technology. How thoughtful, truly. Thank you, friends, for putting your heart on paper... for penning the well wishes and wonderful scriptures... Here are some of the encouraging words: (this is only a selection)
"The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace." Psalm 29:11 (on a postcard from Dan Morrissey--yes, Dan, you picked some dandy postcards! :))
"His compasssions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness." Lam. 3:22, 23 (from a card from Suzy Bell--thank you sweet Suzy for this reminder!)
"May God cheer your heart and lift your spirit and may he shower rainbows and blessings upon you." (in a card from a wonderful Apples of Gold sister, Michelle Roberts)
"Father, thank You for protecting me and my baby and for our good health. Thank You for hearing and answering my prayers. Amen" (a personal prayer from another Apples of Gold sister, Pam Long)
"He tends his flock like a shepherd; He gathers His lambs in His arms; and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young." Isaiah 40:11 (from Ellen Alexander, another Apples of Gold friend and sister--oh what a comforting image!)
"It's the moments that seem the darkest when the light of God's love shines the brightest--The moments we feel furthest away, we are wrapped in His arms the tightest..." (in a card from Adalynn's grandparents and my wonderful mother and father-in-law)
These intentional thoughts and actions are MUCH appreciated. I can't even begin to describe how this blanket of love feels wrapped around our family...
